From a brand new missionary:
“’Fish out of water’ – a phrase we are learning to understand. While God has really provided and blessed us beyond our expectations, there are adjustments. We must cook rice, oatmeal, eggs and dried fish each day to feed our dogs. No gas for our washing machine leads to using the modern marvel in the photo! AND language learning – We must know the tone of a word as well as the pronunciation. We tried to ask how someone was, but instead asked where their boyfriend was. Our language teacher has a lot of patience with us.”
