From workers in Tanzania: So much to do so few workers in the harvest. Handeni is a field "white unto harvest." Please pray that the Lord of the harvest will call out workers who will commit to this harvest field among the Maasai whether they be missionaries (long or short term), volunteers or even Maasai themselves.

Will you claim Isaiah 45:2,6 today for workers among Sub-Saharan African Unreached Peoples?  “I will go before you and will level the mountains, I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron… so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting people may know there is none beside me.  I am the LORD and there is no other.”

Pray for 12 volunteers from a church in Ohio as they camp-out this week, engaging the Ci people (chee) of BENIN, through evangelism clinic days. Pray for God’s spirit to move dramatically among the Ci and that many will turn from the fearful power of darkness to the freedom of the Light of Christ.

The Dinka/SSAP October Prayer Emphasis – a people who roam the harsh regions of South Sudan, in search of grazing for their cattle, their “security, wealth and life” – a people “willing to kill to gain more cattle. IMAGINE what could happen if their passion was turned to God and to His ways?”*

From Northern Zambia/ Zambezi Cluster: "Sam" shared his testimony before being baptized, speaking of the “amaka” (Bemba word for power) of Jesus changing his life. That beautiful outward symbol of the inward change in Sam's life was observed by many who walked over 6 miles one way to the water source! There is POWER in the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord!

Who is an ethnomusicologist? It can be a missionary who wants Unreached Peoples to “Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth… praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples” (Psalm 96:1-3) with ‘heart music.’ For more, take a few minutes to read  "Heart Music and Church Planting in Africa" and if you want more, watch the video "Ethnomusicology and Church Planting in Africa."

Do you pray for missionaries on their birthdays? Yesterday’s testimony from a worker among Unreached Peoples in a difficult area: I was sad… I couldn’t make my hubby a birthday cake (no oven). The local baker called … he’d made something special–a cake for my hubby! He had no idea it was his b'day, he just decided to make one and give it to us! A great reminder that God still knows us and knows our birthdays-Like He would ever forget.

“Then will… the ears of the deaf (be) unstopped.” Last year, workers in South Sudan, where 70% of the people cannot read in any language, viewed Isaiah 35:5 happen among the Dinka, the SSAP October Prayer Emphasis. The Dinka can now hear the New Testament in their heart language, thanks to digital recordings on small solar players! To help you praise God, take a moment to HEAR the NT in Dinka at http://www.bible.is/DIKTBL/Matt/1.

Update on Tumbuka language learners (July 3) in Zambia:  Thank you for your continued prayers! We’ve learned past/ future tenses and can work on sharing our testimonies and are learning vocabulary to share stories from the Bible. It is so good to not only say, “Nkhukhumba vingwa viŵili” (I want two loaves of bread) but also, “Chiuta wakhukhumbwa kuti pawe wene na wene na imwe.” (God wants to have a relationship with you.)

Others’ plates were emptied, but the Baptist leader’s beans and rice was growing cold as he shared his dreams, his heart’s desire for providing knowledge and understanding through TEE*, Bible Schools, seminary, even a college in his area. He was too busy planning to feed His Father’s sheep to take time to eat! (Jeremiah 3:15; John 21:7) *Theological Education by Extension

The Kasem people of northern Ghana and Burkina Faso want a god they can touch or see. A soothsayer tells them what sacrifice to offer the round stone idol on an altar in each household, usually a bird, chicken or some food. Pray that the Kasem will see the futility of idols and turn to the One True God (Isaiah 44:14-15).

The aging African church planter no longer recognizes old friends, but when one friend talked of a new church, a gleam returned to his eyes. With pure joy he said, “Did you know God allowed me to start many new churches?”  Praise God for the early African Believers who faithfully obeyed our Saviour’s Great Commission.

Last week IMB workers met in Central Sahel (West Africa) for a very important meeting strategizing “the direction of ministry and the engagement of 77 unengaged people groups” - NOT one or two people groups without our Father’s Good news, but 77!  Will you pray for them as they carry out their plans?
Today’s photo was added to the newsletter sharing this prayer request!  Writer added:  Picture has nothing to do with what I wrote! Guinea Hen spotted in Kruger National Park in South Africa.

DINKA of South Sudan/ October Prayer Emphasis: Peanuts are grown in the area where the Dinka live, so hungry missionaries asked for peanut butter in the market, but found none! They succeeded when they asked for maquanga (ma-kwa-ngah)! Pray for insight as Believers communicate their needs with Unreached People, especially as they share of the One who meets all their needs. (Phil 4:19)

Shared by worker: “If you don’t bring your own container she will put your maqwanga in a used/empty soft drink can... cut in half… She fills the bottom with maqwanga and sticks the top half of the can inside for the lid.”

Why should Believers be concerned about world hunger? Because people around “our world are starving both physically and spiritually.” They need food and water and many need someone “to share the Bread of Life and the Living Water…. pray and ask God how you can be a part of meeting the physical and spiritual needs of the hungry.”

Few Christians are found among the Kutu, a people in Tanzania who find it difficult to leave behind their worship of ancestors and observances of Islam. Pray for the Kutu to understand that Jesus is the only road (Matt 7:13-14) to God, the only hope of eternal life. Pray that Believers will have an urgency to share His truth with the Kutu people.

Days after the Westgate Mall siege, a Kenyan Baptist pastor spoke of the Special Forces used to end the terrorist attack. He then said, “Today we commission new members of our Special Force, six new MasterLife graduates.” Pray for these trained and equipped African Believers as they “Fight the good fight” which leads to eternal life (1 Timothy 6:11,12).
