1 Excuse+1 Cyclone=1 Impromptu Baptismal. As an old man learned Bible Stories, he listed reasons why it was hard to share these stories with others. Man: “ I've not been baptised.” Pastor: “Do you want to be baptised right now?” Man:“Yes." The class headed to a water hole filled by a recent cyclone and he and five others were baptised!

Arriving in a village to meet with the few Believers, guests were met by angry village elders. They were led to the local chief and charged with lies. Then the true charge arose: The guests had come to preach Jesus. As the guests were told to leave the village, a man (not a believer) challenged the accusers and opened his home, where the guests shared the Gospel with 40 men! Not a story from the Bible, but the experiences of missionaries among an Unreached People in 2013 AD!

“Even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. ‘Do not fear… do not be frightened.’” This Easter weekend, would you use 1Peter 3:14 (NIV) as your prayer guide for a young man in West Africa as he heals from a severe beating by his father for accepting Christ?

From Zambezi Cluster: A few weeks ago the church leader in the village of Dambilo, Zambia passed away. Over 100 heard the gospel at his funeral. Please pray that many will continue to think on what they heard and that God would draw men and women to himself as they do.

For more ways to join the Zambezi Cluster in prayer, visit https://www.facebook.com/ZambeziClusterPrayerNeeds?ref=ts&fref=ts. (Non-Facebook members can view this page.)

Reality Check Time: As a missionary adds to a prayer letter the need for a capable ‘Maytag repairman’ for her dryer, she remembers meeting the kids living in this house! Pray for God’s strengthening as missionaries balance their lives with the needs of the People they minister among.

Praise God that as this photo was taken, the kids' neighbours and Baptist volunteers were busy building them a new home with a sturdy roof and walls!

Believers from Niger studying the Gospel of John decided they also wanted to be givers and servants. When they learned that no one wanted the hard work of replanting the grass at a recently flooded school for missionary kids, they did the job in 100+ weather, singing, “Come on, John is calling us.”

Saturday evening praise from Grady’s Mom: “Oh, our little Grady! He continues to surprise us. He's doing remarkably well… he is making a quicker recovery this time. I am praising the Lord that we caught this most recent illness so early, that he has not gotten as sick and that he has not stayed as sick as long. There is so much to be thankful for and my heart is overflowing... Please praise Him with me tonight for His faithfulness and for His great love." Her praise guide: Psalm 43:3-5.

What keeps a missionary going? Grady’s Mom shares: “Thank you so much for the prayers and Scriptures. They are my lifeline right now. Grady is holding on but is still very weak and on the ventilator. Please pray that… whatever infection he is fighting goes away quickly. He is fighting so hard. Also, please pray that as we look for other options to get Grady back to the states, we will have wisdom and that there will be good communication from everyone involved. Thank you so very much.”

March 21, 2013

Continued prayers are needed for baby Grady and his family. Grady’s dad, big sis and brother are safely in the States in a mission house and have already enjoyed Eggo waffles. The medevac team left South Africa yesterday without baby and Mom as Grady was too unstable and his breathing problems have “taken a turn for the worse.” Pray for “lots of people all over the globe trying to figure out the 'next step'.” Pray “for Grady's healing, and patience for all involved.” His parents thank God for “The blessings of modern communications!” and now being in touch by phone. They add: “Thank you again for all of your prayers and blessings. Please know that you are shouldering our burden in a huge way and we can tangibly feel the relief.”

March 20, 2013

PRAYER NEEDED! Four month old Grady’s dad, big sis and brother left South Africa on Monday for the States, believing Mom and baby would travel a few hours later by air ambulance. Dad and siblings are now in Texas, but Grady is hospitalized again with breathing problems and cannot travel until he is stronger. Prayers are needed for healing for Grady and peace for his Mom and Dad on two different continents.

Update of how God answered your prayers for yesterday's nudge sent yesterday evening via Blackberry by the missionary and Believers at work among the Unreached Alur People of Uganda and the DRCongo: “We went to Dr. Miracle's home (dr was out) to share the Gospel. The family asked for prayer for school exams, difficult marriage problems, a girl is being disturbed by the spirit of her mother who died. We shared the story of Jesus healing the man with evil spirits. Stephen was almost able to tell the whole story and is open to learn. This is the small house where ancestral spirits live and animal blood is sacrificed.”

Update from training among the Alur People in Uganda, along the DRCongo border: Pray for discipled Alur Believers and a missionary as they teach our Father’s stories to new Believers – Bible stories to share with others in an area in need of “the LORD, who heals.” (Exodus 15:26)
