From journal of worker visiting the Jola-Ejamet People: “Boys dancing and drumming into the night; preparing for a once-in-30-year ceremony; they came to see the JESUS Film, arriving noisily; then sitting quietly, watching Jesus speak their language. Pray for these boys and young men, one… whom prayed… to receive Christ. Ask God to clearly show them the difference between darkness and His Light.”

NEEDED! Prayer support for missionaries travelling in southwest Tanzania researching unreached people groups:  “Pray that God would give us strength... Pray for endurance and the willingness to get in the car for one more day and one more day. Pray for God’s direction and leadership to ask good questions of the right people, the people He has ordained to speak to us.  Pray for protection for us, for our vehicle.”

From a missionary in Lesotho who delivered a BGR Bucket Project Hospice Kit this last week: “I am not sure just how long the man I visited today, living at the top of the mountain, will live. He is so very sick. I do know that because you gave, he is a little more comfortable tonight. Thank you for packing a bucket so that the STORY can be shared with those who do not know the HEALER.”

From Botswana: I remember as a child sitting in church and hearing stories of missionaries and seeing their pictures from around the world and thinking "I want to do that." We’ve now been here for 5 years, ministering together as a family. Our older child is already telling her friends about her love for Jesus. Will our two little missionaries one day inspire the next wave of missionaries to share the Good News?

June 25, 2014

From South Africa: Pray for the June 25th to July 4th outreach in Jouberton, as our missionaries, believers from Letlhabile Baptist Church, university students from Mafikeng and partners from Fisherville, KY, engage in children and youth ministry and teacher training. Pray for good communication as we share the love of Christ with the Tswana people and for receptive hearts to God's Word.

June 24, 2014

“We cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard" (Acts 4:20) is often claimed for volunteers going to share about Jesus in Africa. After they return home, pray that their stories of ‘what we saw and heard’ while on mission will transform their listeners back home and ignite within them a desire to pray more diligently, give more sacrificially and willingly serve in our Father’s Harvest Field.

June 23, 2014

Want to be a part of a unique opportunity to proclaim the eternal gospel to possibly “every nation, tribe, language and people” of our world (Revelation 14:6) through July 13th? Then join Believers from around our world by praying daily during the FIFA World Cup, “the world’s largest sporting event”. Lots of guiding info at THE CROSS AT THE CUP* with daily photos, testimonies, prayer items, etc.

Praise of a missionary discipler of university students for a unique opportunity to share a bit of our Father’s story: “I was invited to speak at the Environmental Awareness Club this week at University of Nairobi on biodiversity of bird life in Kenya. My passions don't always overlap like this. But I got the chance to share about God's creative design of birds for their specific habitat and diet.”

Shared by Compassion Net: “‘To market, to market’… every Thursday, hundreds of people descend upon one centralized village for market day. One of our team members goes several times a month to visit with the female vendors. Pray that this time will lead to spiritual conversations and sharing the Gospel. Ask the Father to bring more Senufo Supyire women (of Mali) to repentance and saving faith in Christ.”

Shared this week by CTMET Cape Town Prayer Group: “Today was the beginning of something new. A Bible study with the latest class of refugees began. There were 15 people and Pastor Benjamin was prepared to teach them from Genesis.” Pray for these men, women, youth and children, displaced by wars, coups, and other violence, as they learn English and seek documentation, jobs, shelter, and food.

Update* from worker who shared the Jesus film in a village in Madagascar and was asked to return and teach the Bible: “Just returned from the village and I am overwhelmed as there will be Sakalava people praising God around His throne one day. Four people received Jesus as their Savior today. We will continue going and discipling these as well as evangelizing others. Prayer works, keep it up.”
*June 14 Nudge to Action for Sub-Saharan African Peoples

June 18, 2014

Thanking God today for the ‘Reached’ peoples of Sub-Saharan Africa, who like Paul “have great sorrow and unceasing anguish” in their hearts for their own people (Romans 9:1-4) and are sharing their Saviour’s love and salvation with the Unreached Peoples in their nation and throughout Africa, as well as equipping their own children to know their Saviour and share His Story!

June 17, 2014

“One of my favorite things to do is to tell HIS story! Sharing HIS story!”  Comment added by worker sharing this photo.  Pray that missionaries and a partnering church, Dry Creek Baptist Church (Louisiana), will have “wisdom in going forward and how to best support emerging leaders”, as they engage the Kakwa of South Sudan, an unreached people currently in refugee camps in north/west Uganda.

June 16, 2014

Pray for God’s wisdom/ guidance and safe travel/ good health for the hundreds of volunteers who are using their 2014 summer vacations to “Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth. Sing to the LORD, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among” the unreached peoples of Sub-Saharan Africa. (Psalm 96:1-3)

Report of worker: In 2009-10 I shared Old Testament and “Creation to Christ” stories with and old man of another faith and others in a Sereer village. When I left Senegal, a co-worker continued sharing N.T. stories. At some point, the old man accepted the Gospel as truth. I returned this month and the man, now in his 70’s, reported that he was sharing the stories with his friends, and said, “I guess I’ll wait on the others to believe, and then we’ll be baptized together.” I replied, “You can be baptized whenever you are ready.” He was ready and I watched as he was baptized last Sunday!

June 14, 2014

Shared by worker in Madagascar at 11AM last Saturday: "Loading the JESUS film equipment for trip to village. Pray that the Holy Spirit would use this to powerfully remove the darkness there.” Update/ 10PM: “God answers prayers. Over 100 people (some of another faith) watched in amazement the story of Jesus in Sakalava, their heart language. Thanks for praying…. they asked us to return to teach them the Bible!”

June 13, 2014

"Pray for us… that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ… Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should… mak(ing) the most of every opportunity.” Will you pray Colossians 3:2-5 for Soccer loving Believers who desire to use the 2014 World Cup (June12-July13) as an opportunity for many open doors to clearly proclaim the message of their Savior?

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?”  Romans 10:14 continues to describe too many peoples of our world, including the Senufo of Burkina Faso. Will you take a few moments to visit http://subsaharanafricanpeoples.imb.org/pray/view/06-14-emphasis-senufo and learn more of this people and how to pray for them?

Shared last Sunday by worker in SSAfrica: “When family is the hospital, or nephews and nieces are born, adopted, graduating & getting married it's hard to be away. But knowing a Senegalese friend we poured so much time into is being baptized today, it sure helps. Praying God's blessing on… family in the States and African brothers in Christ.” (Photo: Past storying time with the man and his grandson.)

Update of May 30th post: “So far our Oklahoma Baptist University volunteer team to northern Zambia has worshipped with local Believers, eaten zebra stew and a Zambian meal, lived with no running water for many days, played with our kids, cleared the road to Mulali, hauled water, and shared testimonies in Chipote! There’s a full week ahead of ministry, so keep this team in your prayers!”

June 8, 2014

Praise from worker among a coastal people: “Last week, my husband shared the Creation to Christ story with our new guard, a man of another faith. In the past some have been interested in our story, but no one has ever responded, 'I'm ready.'  Turns out he had heard the gospel message 3 times from three of our guys… his heart had been prepared, and HE WAS READY to enter the kingdom of God.”

June 7, 2014

As you continue praying specifically for Thursday’s ongoing URGENT REQUEST from South Sudan, add this to your general prayer list as every day workers somewhere among Sub-Saharan African Peoples are in need of this intercession: “Asking prayer due to intense spiritual warfare… intercede for our young leaders as they proclaim Christ! We are asking for peace, wisdom, and protection.”

More encounters in need of prayer from a worker in South Africa: “For people to break free of addictions. For good decisions about girlfriends and boyfriends and following Biblical instructions. For children to do well in school, in spite of several languages, no homework help or value placed on an education; recovery from a house (shack) fire. ‘What is impossible with man is possible with God’ (Luke 18:27)”

June 1, 2014

Situations encountered last week by a worker in South Africa: “So many sad stories; lives ruined by poor choices, selfishness, hopelessness and poverty. PRAY and PRAY some more… For people to hear the good news of Christ. For orphans, abandoned and vulnerable kids to have love, protection and enough food. For young mothers to stop the cycle of poor parenting and pregnant teens...”
