After a sleepless night, a leader of another faith visited the home of a worker among Unreached Sub-Saharan African Peoples and asked, “How can I be saved from the evil spirits that attack me in the night?” The worker’s answer: “Believe in the one who is stronger than the evil spirits. Ask Jesus into your life.”   Pray that this man will open his heart to the one who casts out evil spirits.

A young missionary serving among Unreached Sub-Saharan African Peoples learned yesterday that her grandmother is now with Jesus. Please pray for the comfort, peace and joy that only our Father can give as she and other workers face the loss of loved ones from “so far away” from family.

Ecclesiastes 12:12 (NIV)is true: “Much study wearies the body”. Home-schooled Missionary Kids and their parents (who must study in order to teach) also agree, thus the need for a bit of fun! Pray that an upcoming opportunity for training and fellowship for home-schooling families serving among Sub-Saharan African Peoples will be a time of encouragement, strengthening and fun!

Is our Father still in the business of exceptional things in our world? Check out what happened when Believers plans did not go as scheduled in the story, “Gospel spreads like wildfire among Nuni people” at http://subsaharanafricanpeoples.imb.org/stories/view/rapid-response.

“The man who prays for us is standing here. He prays and God works out our problems and difficulties... he knows God and God knows him." How would you respond if a person of another faith said this about you? One missionary among SSAPeoples was humbled and grateful that his relationship with God was recognized, as he prays for more opportunities to share how all can know and be known by our God.

How do you respond as people in your country kill their own people?  What do you say as you pass dead bodies as your family flee the violence, and your young daughter asks, “Father, what has happened to these people?” You pray!  Guides for praying for Believers in South Sudan can be found at http://www.commissionstories.com/africa/stories/view/conflict-in-south-sudan

What brings joy to missionaries among Unreached Peoples of Sub-Saharan Africa?  For workers in Lesotho, it is having volunteers come to minister the physical and spiritual needs of the Basotho People. It is hearing one volunteer doctor say:  “This was my absolute most favorite day! Ponies to the mountains...the blind will see!” It is hearing the volunteers pray that all they do brings honor to Jesus!

February 21, 2014

Like Peter and John, missionaries on Stateside Assignment go “back to their own people and report” their stories, the stories of the People God called them to serve among.  Pray that they will boldly and clearly share how they see God at work and how others can join in His work of ‘shaking’ the Unreached Peoples of our world and filling them with the Holy Spirit.  (Acts 4:23-31)

February 20, 2014

“Israel will bud and blossom and fill all the world with fruit” (Isaiah 27:6). Our Father’s desire was for all His children, His “people without understanding” (v.11) to know and worship Him. Would you use this photo of a once beautiful white flower as a reminder to pray for the 1,850 People groups in Sub-Saharan Africa still waiting to hear and know of our Father’s love and eternal life?

February 19, 2014

Last week you prayed for volunteers traveling to Africa as a “winter storm of ‘historical proportions'” blasted the US. One medical team made it and is at work in Lesotho among the Unreached Basotho People! Pray for God’s strength as they minister to many poor people with dental problems. Pray that “threatening thunderstorms find somewhere else to land” as they share our Father’s Good News.

These kids are hearing Believers “Sing to the LORD, praise His name; proclaim his salvation day after day,” but too many peoples in our world are not! In the next few days as the preparer of these Nudges to Action for Sub-Saharan African Peoples is away from internet coverage, would you review past posts on this blog and pray for those still waiting for someone to “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples”? (Psalm 96:1-3)

A story of heartbreak, a story of joy, a story of a chief’s wife who after her husband is killed for being a Believer says, “I will not give up my faith, and if you start a Bible study, I want to be the first one to attend.”  Funeral of Persecuted Chief Leads others to Christ and more stories of faith from Sub-Saharan African Peoples at http://subsaharanafricanpeoples.imb.org/stories

Thanking God today for those who so love the Peoples of Sub-Saharan Africa that they come as volunteers, strengthening and encouraging African Believers and sharing their Father's love with the Unreached Sub-Saharan African Peoples.

February 13, 2014

Has your life been affected by the winter storm of ‘historical proportions' blasting the US east coast? Peoples in Sub-Saharan Africa may also have their lives affected in ‘historical proportions’ by this storm. Pray for God to make the way easy for volunteer teams trying to fly in the next few days from the US to Africa to share God’s love and salvation among Unreached Peoples.

What is the name of that country highlighted in red in the centre of Sub-Saharan Africa? Did you know that this country’s capital city experienced floods this week leading to the deaths of many people who lack the peace and joy which we claim as Believers? Would you take a few moments to learn a bit more about this country and her Peoples today?

Would you claim Acts 4:23-31 this week for Believers among Sub-Saharan African Peoples? Will you pray that those reporting all that God has done will be filled with the Holy Spirit and enabled to speak our Father’s word with great boldness? Will you pray that the Unreached Peoples of Sub-Saharan Africa will be shaken by the name of our Saviour?

Would you join other Believers in Praying for Sochi (http://www.engagesochi.org/pray/).  More on the Maasai Olympics and the Winter Olympics in coming days!

Thanking God today for Southern Baptists who pray, send workers and give as they "Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth. Sing to the LORD, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among" Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Psalm 96:1-3

Shared by missionary parent serving among Unreached SSAPeoples: “Our kids have sacrificed a lot in coming here too! They miss family and friends, sleepovers, ‘real’ school’… church in their language, sports… Reminding myself and them that God knows and cares about our hurts and wants to give us joy in the midst of the pain. Asking The Lord to give His joy and peace to their little hearts tonight!”

February 4, 2014

Can you imagine having never heard the stories of Jesus and his part in his Father’s gift of eternal life? This describes the 430,000 Maninka people of Senegal. Pray that Believers in neighbouring countries and in other parts of or world will respond to our Father’s call to share his Good News with this people who lack our Father’s peace and joy.

“They were cut to the heart and said… ‘what shall we do?’” (Acts 2:37 - the crowds’ reaction to Peter’s testimony at Pentecost.) Does it cut to your heart that of the 2,826 people groups in Sub-Saharan Africa, less than 2% of 1,762 peoples are evangelical Christians and 573 peoples are hearing no testimony of our Good News? “What shall we do?” Answers offered below in comments.

Human Exploitation – Is there any good news in this world-wide problem filled with people without hope who have been abused, betrayed, rejected and exploited by others? YES, there are Believers speaking up for these people with no voice; there are Believers sharing their Good News with these people; there are also ways you can “speak up for those who have no voice.”
