“Socks. We… take them for granted... But when you live in a tiny, mud-bricked house with the winter wind whistling…through the chinks in your mud walls, socks are big. The BGR bucket includes… warm socks to help the terminally ill keep their feet warm. Many… have never owned socks in their lives. Won’t you pack a bucket and send some socks and love to the dying in Africa?” Shared by The Bucket Project 'Hospice Kits' on Facebook. From new missionaries: Everything is different ... it's nice to know that when we come home from the market with tomatoes instead of potatoes, or when we spend five hours at a church service and can only understand a few words... our new pets will help us feel at least a small sense of normalcy until we get used to this new culture that God has called us to serve in.
